Why 0 TDS?

The cleanest test is the one you can see

TDS (total dissolved solids) is the amount of minerals, salts and metals dissolved in your water. Most pitcher filters use carbon to improve taste. A 5-stage filter adds ion-exchange resin to reduce the dissolved solids a TDS meter measures.

  • See it on the meter. Test your tap water, then your filtered water, and compare the readings yourself.
  • Know when to change it. Replace the filter when the meter reads 006, instead of guessing by the calendar.
  • Five stages, one filter. Carbon handles taste and odor; ion-exchange resin targets the dissolved solids.

How often should I replace my filter?

Replace your 5-stage filter when your TDS meter reads 006 or higher. How long a filter lasts depends on your tap water: the higher your starting TDS, the sooner you'll need a new one.

Will Zero Filter Online filters fit my pitcher?

They are made to fit pitchers and dispensers that use the standard round 5-stage filter. Check the sizes and specifications on the product page to confirm fit. They don't fit faucet-mount systems; for those, see our faucet mount filters. Zero Filter Online is an independent brand and is not affiliated with ZeroWater or Culligan.

Which refrigerator filter fits my fridge?

What does 000 on the TDS meter mean?

TDS stands for total dissolved solids, measured in parts per million. A reading of 000 means the meter detects no dissolved solids. TDS is a quick check, not a full lab test, and it doesn't measure bacteria.
